We're delighted to announce that OT CPD has been appointed as our Official Training Partner for the upcoming Naidex Roadshow South.
OT CPD focuses on providing Occupational Therapists and healthcare professionals with high-quality, practical Continuing Professional Development (CPD) that can be applied immediately in practice.
For professionals who have previously attended the Care & Dementia Expo, Naidex Roadshow South provides another opportunity to access education relevant to the challenges faced across care, dementia, community and rehabilitation services, while experiencing everything a Naidex event has to offer.
OT CPD’s hands-on workshops focus on practical learning that professionals can take back into everyday practice. Delivered by health professionals and experienced clinical specialists, the sessions are educational rather than promotional, using specialist equipment to demonstrate techniques, encourage discussion and explore different approaches to care.
Learning relevant to care and dementia support
The Naidex event programme will address key areas encountered when supporting older people and individuals living with dementia, reduced mobility and complex needs.
Moving and handling sessions will explore safer transfers, repositioning and techniques that encourage an individual's own movement and participation wherever possible.
The training provider will also focus on moving and handling where behaviours challenge, including situations where a person may be confused, frightened, distressed or resistant to assistance. Workshops will consider how communication, approach, positioning, environment and handling techniques can help reduce distress and support safer, more person-centred care.
Mobilisation, falls prevention and falls management sessions will explore maintaining mobility and independence, recognising fall risks and practical approaches to supporting an individual when a fall does occur, including the use of solutions such as the Raizer 2.
Postural management, seating and positioning sessions will consider comfort, function, pressure management and participation, incorporating specialist solutions including Seating Matters and Accora chairs.
Delegates will also explore approaches to turning and positioning in bed, together with practical considerations around showering and bathing, incorporating equipment from Chiltern Invadex.
Throughout the workshops, the focus is not simply on what equipment does but on why and when different techniques and solutions may be appropriate, and how they can be applied effectively in practice.
How to Register to attend OT CPD events at Naidex
Because the workshops are taking place as part of the Naidex Roadshow, two registrations are required.

OT CPD workshops will take place in a dedicated OT CPD Professional Event Hall at Naidex Roadshow South, which is heading to Farnborough International on September 9.
