Tommy Jessop

Actor

Tommy Jessop is well known for his role as Terry Boyle in seasons 5 and 6 of LINE OF DUTY, and was the first actor with Down Syndrome to star in a prime-time BBC drama.

Recently, Tommy presented the BBC Panorama documentary WILL THE NHS CARE FOR ME? which investigated why people with a learning disability are more than twice as likely to die from avoidable causes compared to the rest of the population.

Tommy has also featured in several short films, including DAY OF THE FLOWERS, FIGHTER (for which he won ‘Best Actor’ at the Oska Bright Film Festival and was named ‘Best Film’ at Film London), DOWN AND OUT, and INNOCENCE. In 2012, he became the first professional actor with Down Syndrome to play the title role of HAMLET in a theatre production.
