Olivia Sklenar
Olivia started her career working with newly disabled people as a Rehabilitation Assistant at the National Spinal Injuries Centre in Stoke Mandeville, home of the Paralympic Games. Inspired to support disabled individuals to regain their independence, she taught wheelchair skills and started a project in which she would take patients out of the hospital to use public transport including local buses, trains, taxis and the London Underground.
In 2020, Olivia was recruited as the Accessibility and Inclusion Officer at Lothian Buses in Edinburgh and has supported the business in making some fundamental changes to improve the services that they can offer to the people of Edinburgh and the Lothians, regardless of disability.
She is passionate about prioritising accessibility and making simple changes that create a safe and welcoming service for all bus passengers.
