Around 11 million people in the UK suffer with hearing loss* hearing aids improve hearing but in complex environments often the hearing aid needs support from additional assistive listening devices. Jon will speak about the funding schemes that are available to support individuals through the Disability Students Allowance, Access to Work and the Royal British Legion. He will also cover the products that make the difference for both individuals and businesses to ensure that all hearing impaired are not disadvantaged and are able to fully participate in every environment.
Since graduating from University Jon has gained considerable experience working in the hearing industry supporting people with hearing loss. Over the past 14 years Jon has worked for two of the largest global providers of hearing aids for both adults and pediatrics.
Now working with Gordon Morris Ltd a business committed to supporting people with hearing loss in every environment where hearing aids are just not sufficient. Hearing loss can be complex, Jon believes that greater awareness is needed to ensure that people have access to products and systems to support their needs either through government funding or ensuring business take on the responsibility to install systems to help staff and visitors.
