Gareth is a Chartered Consultant Psychologist and an army veteran who has been recognised for his disabled research by receiving national awards. He has been featured in many articles and on the radio for his work in disability. One of his main focuses is posttraumatic stress disorder in veterans and people with disabilities.
ADAPT runs peer support groups (that Gareth designed and developed) along with his specialised team and provides other types of support mechanisms by way of courses i.e., coping strategies, mindfulness etc. We help individuals back into education and employment, we can also help with benefits support where needed.
ADAPT support veteran and civilians with all types of disabilities. ADAPT can help with most things as stated above but if there is something we are unable to help with we can signpost to other charities or organisations with more experience in that area.
ADAPT offers businesses the same support (peer groups and courses) and ways in which they can make their businesses disabled-friendly. This includes helping advise on building accessibility, employment support via access to work, and ways in which they can accommodate their disabled workforce.
ADAPT GATEWAY UK is a subsidiary of DisabledUnity along with many other organisations as it is still growing. Partnerships and collaborations are the way forward as together we are stronger and can help many more people with disabilities leading to an improved quality of
