With over 20 years’ experience specialising in moving and handling, Deborah dedicates her life to educating health organisations around the world about best practice techniques. Motivated by a desire to reduce risks for health professionals, carers and those being cared for, Deborah founded A1 Risk Solutions® the first online-based training and risk management system in the world. As part of this, Deborah developed the only Level 4 qualification in single-handed care regulated by Royal Society Prevention of Accidents.
Deborah is the honorary lecturer for the Occupational Therapy Directorate at the University of Salford and enjoys helping develop her student’s skills for the betterment of our future workforce. Deborah is also a member of the ISO standards committee as part of the hoist and slings working group. A member of the National Back Exchange group, Deborah has published several papers on
moving and handling and single-handed and is involved in international moving and handling research projects.
