Accessibility on Public Buses - Welcoming Everyone On Board
Public Transport Operators have a responsibility to ensure that their services are safe and accessible for their customers, but is that enough?
In a time when we are being asked to leave the car at home and create a greener environment by choosing active travel options or using public transport, it is more important than ever that the options available meet the needs of everyone who needs them, not just the white collared commuter.
Olivia will take you through the changes that have been made at Lothian Buses (operating across Edinburgh and the Lothians) since her appointment as the dedicated Accessibility and Inclusion Officer and how these changes have made a noticeable impact on how disabled and chronically ill individuals use our services. These improvements involve every aspect of your journey, from the planning process through to the ability to feedback, including the training our staff receive and the accessibility of our website and app.
Please come and join me to learn about what we are doing at Lothian Buses and to share your experiences of using Public Bus Transport as a disabled individuals so that we can share best practice and encourage other operators to do the same.
