Providing outstanding education, care therapy, medical support and independence training to young people with physical disabilities aged 2-25 years. Our vision is to create a world where some of the most physically disabled young people learn to take control of their lives and realise their potential. Our mission is to remove barriers and provide opportunities for these young people to learn, develop independence and realise their potential through one nationally recognised centre of expertise. Founded by Sir William Purdie Treloar and his wife Annie in the early 20th century as a hospital and a technical training centre, we have grown into a School and College which cater to the whole spectrum of needs of young disabled people and their families. We off er a range of services from education here on campus to supporting youngsters in their communities. We are rated `OUTSTANDING` in all of our provisions - by both OFSTED as well as CQC which ranks us in the top 2% of specialist providers in the UK. In 2017-18, 90% of our students were wheelchair users, 80% have a speech, language or communication difficulty and 38% have a visual impairment. All areas of our provision are on-site, including, therapies, health and education, which ensures a student misses a minimal amount of class ti me to receive the services he/she needs. Our focus is on outcomes with a high proportion of leavers achieving their aim of placement.
