The Motability Scheme

Stand: N610
With the Motability Scheme, disabled people can transfer their mobility allowance to lease a new car, scooter or powered wheelchair. Insurance, breakdown assistance, repairs, tyre and windscreen repair or replacements are included as part of the lease and the disabled person is able to nominate a driver if they don`t drive. You may be eligible to join the Motability Scheme if you receive either the: • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), • Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), • War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS), • Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP). As a national charity (Registered Charity No. 299745), Motability also raises funds and provides financial assistance to those who may otherwise be unable to afford the cost of larger cars, vehicle adaptations, driving lessons and wheelchair accessible vehicles.
