ParalympicsGB has launched a dedicated newsletter for SENCOs, teachers, physiotherapists and other professionals who play a key role in encouraging disabled people into sport.

The Partner newsletter shares updates and insights on Paralympic Potential, a programme designed to identify disabled people who have the interest and ability to progress in Paralympic sport and help them take their first step.

ParalympicsGB is encouraging key workers to sign up to the quarterly newsletter to stay informed about inclusive sport opportunities and talent identification events taking place throughout the year.

Ben Quilter, British Paralympic judoka and Athlete Recruitment Network Manager at ParalympicsGB, said: “We know that medical professionals, teachers and parent groups play a vital role in signposting and giving disabled people the confidence to take the important first step towards sport. This is why we have launched the Partner Newsletter.

“Here we will provide you with all the info and resources you need to help signpost and advocate for the power of Paralympic sport.”

Through its mass participation events and targeted talent identification and recruitment initiatives, Paralympic Potential has helped over 100 people find and start to compete in a domestic or international pathway across a range of Paralympic sports.

“We’ve also helped far more people find a sporting activity they enjoy and either work towards becoming a competitor or simply take pleasure in the social and physical benefits of sport,” Ben added.
