Ergochair, a Bristol-based manufacturer of ergonomic seating for people postural problems and disabilities, has been awarded a King’s Award for Enterprise.

The company is one of only 185 organisations across the UK to receive the honour in 2026. It has been recognised in the category of Innovation for its commitment to continuous improvement and user-focused design.

Founded in 2002, Ergochair began by developing chairs for individuals with complex needs. Over the years, the company has grown to bring clinical-grade adaptability and personalisation into everyday workplaces and home offices, helping people rediscover their potential and get back to work.

Commenting on receiving the award, Ben Caton, Managing Director of Ergochair, said: “Receiving this prestigious award is a huge milestone for Ergochair. We’re filled with pride that our incredible team have been recognised in such a way.

“Ergochair and our products exist to give people happier and more fulfilled lives, enabling them to work at their best in whatever they do. We will continue to drive innovation in truly UK-based manufacturing and export across the globe.”

The King’s Awards for Enterprise, now in their 60th year, are among the UK’s most prestigious business accolades.

They celebrate the achievements of outstanding businesses from across the UK and Channel Islands and recognise their vital contribution to economic growth and improving lives.

Ergochair will carry the King’s Award emblem for the next five years.
