Senior Digital Accessibility Manager, HSBC

Dr. Chris Bailey is a Senior Accessibility Manager at HSBC where he has been in position since 2020. He has 20 years’ experience working on the development of accessible digital technology and investigating social aspects of digital inclusion, presenting his work at several international conferences.

In his current role he manages the accessibility of HSBCs global digital business and transactional platforms. He is growing a global accessibility user research program and contributes to a range of change management initiatives including digital accessibility standards and innovation projects.

In previous roles he has been involved in the practical implementation of organisational accessibility policies, educating and training stakeholders on subjects related to digital accessibility and embedding accessibility into user experience design and development.

Chris believes in advocating accessibility by supporting the development of professional practice and has held advisory roles for the International Usability and UX Qualification Board (UXQB). He has held leadership roles for the UK Chapter of the User Experience Professionals Association (UXPA UK) and in the organisation of the annual Web 4 All (W4A) Conference – one of the premier conferences for accessibility research.
