Award-winning journalist and disability advocate Jordan Jarrett-Bryan will join Naidex Roadshow South this September to discuss how technology could unlock new job opportunities for disabled talent.
Jordan, a journalist for Channel 4 News and host of disability positive podcast World’s Coolest Disabled, has covered a range of disability-related stories and presented at four Paralympic Games.
A below-the-knee amputee, Jordan has worked to ensure visibility and opportunities for disabled people wanting to start a career in journalism. He’s also the Co-Chair of the Ability network at ITN and former Chair of the Disability Journalism Forum.
His session at Naidex Roadshow South, taking place at Farnborough International, will explore the technological advances being made in media and production and how these could be used to ensure disabled people can work in these sectors.
It will also look at how disabled workers have been marginalised and discriminated against over many years and bust the myth that recruiting disabled talent comes with high financial costs.
Speaking ahead of Naidex Roadshow South, Jordan said: “I’m so excited about my session and hearing and exchanging of ideas and experiences with the disabled community.
“I want to see more people with disabilities working in media and production, and with technology opening up opportunities for more employment, organisations must be brave and allow disabled people to join their teams.”
Jordan will be joined on stage by Chris Lynch, an award-winning disabled filmmaker, founder and inventor.
The session will take place at the show’s Village Green on September 9 at 1:45pm.
