European Legislative Changes Drives Growth In Vehicle Access Solutions

A globally recognised manufacturer of vehicle access solutions is reporting a marked increase in European exports after a change in legislation.

Faiveley Vapor Ricon, which has supported domestic and commercial demands across Europe and the UK attribute this growth to its exemplary performance record and the range of products that it has on offer.

Its entire product range is designed with making vehicle access and travel easier to drivers, passengers and commercial vehicle operators and include a range of lifts, ramps, hoist, winches, seats, restraints and flooring solutions. With 80million people in the EU currently registered as disabled, and the figure expected to rise to 120m due to an aging population, never before has there been such a demand for products to support mobility and independence.

“The change to EU legislation at the end of 2017 has seen more transport providers, both commercial and community based, ensure disabled travellers are more readily catered for,” said Michael Dickinson sales manager Faiveley Vapor Ricon. “It is clear to see that such providers have taken a more pro-active stance towards these newly developed guidelines and legal requirements which are revolutionary in terms of access and independence.”

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) has been created to unlock myriad of everyday facilities that people with disabilities cannot currently access including services such as cash machines and of course, transport.

“We recognise that accessing Public Service Vehicles, trains and taxis for work and pleasure is critical to wheelchair users and the provision of equipment to ease alighting, disembarking and safe travel is one that disabled people should expect as a minimum,” said Michael. “Our accessible transport solutions not only help users but drivers, operators and other staff too, to facilitate safe and secure passage for all customers.”

Easily identifiable credentials are attributed to the Faiveley Vapor Ricon series of ramps, lifts and hoists and they all bring myriad benefits such as easy installation, lightweight construction, easy operating controls and a number of safety features as standard.

Michael concluded; “Clear, uncompromised access is enjoyed by installing our products and this can range from ramps for wheelchair access to hoists and floor restraints to securing chairs and scooters during travel.

“We welcome the changes that are being made and believe they will make a measurable change to the quality of life and travel for disabled people across Europe. Our years of expertise in this field and pioneering, proven designs means we are well placed to support individual and fleet users with advice, product specification, fitting and ongoing maintenance and service.”
