Max Parmentier is co-founder & CEO of Birdie, an older adult care start-up incubated in London and funded by AXA. Through revolutionary service models and state-of- the-art technology, Birdie supports older adults and their families with the practicalities of caring so they can feel confident that ageing at home is safe and sensible. Birdie ambitions to radically transform how society perceives and manages ageing. Previously, Max founded and scaled up the world largest global health e-marketplace. Incubated by the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the venture was funded and supported by Bill Gates and launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2016. Prior to his assignment, Max worked at the UN and in small start-ups and spent 5 years at McKinsey as manager to support clients design their strategies on climate change mitigation, fight against deforestation and cleantech. He’s board member of the Altius Society think-tank in Oxford and the Friday Group in Belgium. He also advises several disruptive social innovation initiatives across Europe. Max holds a Master of Sc. in Management from the Louvain School of Management in Belgium and a Master in International Economic Policy from Columbia University in New York.
