With over 20 years working within the IT banking industry, Angela moved across to manage large scale programme delivery for the Retail Bank within Santander from the design phases through to implementation.
The Bank is heavily committed in supporting customers to bank independently and on their own terms and most recently have launched Santander’s Voice Guided ATM solution, which unlocks all services on the ATM to visually impaired, blind and vulnerable customers. Working with specialist organisations and charities such as Digital Accessibility Centre (DAC) and RNIB, to ensure that the solution was designed and built in collaboration and has been well received throughout our Banking Network.

Dorothy Liviabella

Dorothy started her career in the Financial Services industry in the early 1990s and during her successful 25 year career, has built up extensive knowledge, skills and competencies which span leadership, management, transformation and project experience in Retail Banking and Wealth Management. In her current role as Head of Specialist Support Services, the focus is on supporting the needs of all the Retail Bank vulnerable customers and those with specialist needs. Recent initiatives that Dorothy and the team has led and championed include bank wide vulnerable awareness training, the development of online material and the launch of British Sign Language services for customers. Dorothy plays an active role within the industry, consulting with industry peers, charitable bodies and consumer groups to help shape the future provision of financial services for vulnerable customer groups.

Seminar Title: Banking Services to support independent living

This session will provide an overview of how Banking Services can support independent living and some of the specialist services that are available for customers with specific needs. 

As the first bank to launch an entire network of talking ATMs, Santander will explain how this has supported those with visual impairments and help customers maintain independence in their banking. The session will also touch on the future of ATM development and functionality and many other services and innovations that will ultimately support independence for people with a range of specialist needs.
